Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager reports to the VP of Sales, and is located in Landover, MD.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day sales activities, profitability, revenue, budget, and expenses for their respective region. This position will also be a coach and mentor to the entire sales team and work collaboratively with other key functional managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with direct reports to set meaningful performance objectives
- Coach/train team to sell and market foodservice equipment, smallwares and design services primarily to independents, local/regional chains, negotiated sales, and larger chains. Ensures a proper balance of prospecting and account management
- Manage to budget and strive to achieve stretch targets each year
- Make calculated decisions regarding which projects to bid on, identify and qualify customers prior to engaging other internal functional areas
- Set high standards for professional, articulate, and powerful sales presentations which close deals
- Create and develop developmental relationships and helps others build confidence in their ability to excel
- Direct contact and establish close relationships with local representatives, manufactures, architects, consultants, contractors, and customers
- Assure customer satisfaction and seek to resolve customer issues with a sense of urgency and purpose
- Develop strategic plans to maximize growth in revenue and margins each year
- Communicate with colleagues throughout the Company to establish best practices and bidding consistency
- Market the Company’s brand through trade journals, flyers, trade shows, sales, and general promotions
- Develop/manage smallwares sales, route sales, and showroom programs in a specific territory
- Develop standard processes for all administration of sales transactions in a collaborative effort with all functional areas
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned

- Must be self-driven, highly motivated with the ability to solicit and close new business as well as manage good relationships with high level customers
- Possess exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
- Ability to present highly energetic and professional presentations in front of small and large groups
- Exceptional work ethic with a focus on achieving goals and targets in a timely and complete manner
- Must have ability to lead and mentor others; work well within a team environment
- Experience identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills
- Strong analysis and judgement skills
- Demonstrate effective negotiation and closing techniques
- Holds self and team accountable for performance
- Must be able to work in a dynamic and changing environment and develop forward looking long range plans for growth
% TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- This position requires the ability to travel constantly
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 6+ years’ experience with detailed knowledge of foodservice equipment, smallwares and restaurant operations
- CFSP certification preferred, or achieved in 3 years
- Proven direct sales history
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word) as well as AutoQuotes and ERP systems
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
