The Returns Manager reports to the Regional Director of Inventory Management, and is located in San Diego, CA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Returns Manager is responsible for the management of the return’s life cycle for distribution, retail, design build and government contract. The Returns Manager maintains the integrity of inventory through organized returns management, requesting and tracking vendor RMA’s, and making decisions on returns merchandise dispositions. Responsible for development and compliance to the regional return policy and alignment to corporate policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, maintain and uphold process for returns management, ensuring compliance to company and corporate policy.
- Manages the return’s process to include accuracy, organization, and placement optimization.
- Partner with sales personnel to resolve return merchandise according to policy.
- Negotiate RMA (Return Material Authorization) with suppliers including mitigation of restock fees.
- Direct timely and efficient receipt of return merchandise.
- Investigate and mitigate financial implications of return requests denied by suppliers.
- Ensure all RM and RMA shipped orders are credited in a timely fashion.
- Direct activities surrounding mitigation of E&O inventories.
- Develop KPI’s around returns process.
- Record and track return information for follow up and report on KPI’s.
- Review and recommend changes to returns process that drive efficiencies and cost savings.
- Leads and directs activities to provide excellence in service to customers, meet warehouse goals, and perform work in an accurate and timely manner.
- Follow all safety requirements according to the company safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of department SOPs through LEAN methodologies.
- Operates within established monthly and annual budgets.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess the ability to interact within all levels of the organization including suppliers, team members, managers, and executives.
- Working knowledge and experience with warehouse management computer systems and ERP’s.
- Ability to prioritize projects, analyze, and coordinate on operational needs.
- Accurate, responsible, pro-active, problem-solving attitude.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or college courses a plus.
- Warehouse, Inventory management, or purchasing experience is desired.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
