The Warehouse Associate reports to the Warehouse Manager, and is located in Bellingham, MA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Exciting opportunity at our brand new state of the art Warehouse facility that boasts 70 dock doors, 345,000 square feet, 14,000 pallet positions, impressive technology and onsite cafeteria! Do you like putting the pieces together in a puzzle? We are seeking associates that will be responsible for assembling commercial kitchen equipment, using manuals if needed, prior to shipping to our customers. Associate will also ship and receive merchandise to include receiving incoming product on pallets, sort according to item type – stock numbers, place pallets of product in the appropriate aisle and storage rack. To get the merchandise to the customer, transfer palletized stock from the warehouse staging area into trucks for a quick delivery to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Move palletized merchandise using manual or electric pallet jacks and lift trucks; observing operational safety procedures including daily equipment safety inspections.  Comply with Powered Industrial Lift vehicle standard operating procedures.
  • Safety-practice proper manual materials handling policies:  follow good body mechanics when bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying.
  • Follow Warehouse Standard Operating Procedures:
    • Appropriate stock documentation and labels 
    • Review shipping/receiving orders entering information into the computer data base
    • Sort and verify orders for accuracy 
    • Transfer palletized merchandise to appropriate warehouse stocking locations
    • Working knowledge of hand tools

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 75lbs.  Manual materials handling experience and education is required for lifting boxed and unboxed items, using box knives, packaging tape, and pallet wrapping equipment.  Proper lifting and body mechanics procedures are required according to company policy and instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED or relative work experience
  • Forklift or order picker experience a plus but not required
  • Powered Industrial Truck Operator experience and certification is required for lift truck and pallet jack operation
  • Mechanical ability a plus
  • Experience in the use of computer data entry equipment, reading shipping orders and stocking labels is required for stock processing
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
