The Senior Corporate Accountant reports to the Corporate Controller, and is located in Mansfield, MA
POSITION SUMMARY:
We have an exciting opportunity to join the fast-paced, high-performing Corporate Accounting department of TriMark USA. The primary responsibility of this newly created role will be to support the national controllership function by allowing cross-training across divisions and the corporate location. This is a great role for someone seeking to develop broad experience of accounting operations and sharpen core competencies. This role requires a goal oriented professional with command of the details and a passion for continuous improvement.
This role will collaborate with other corporate departments as well as division and regional finance teams to accomplish objectives. The successful individual will be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple simultaneous priorities, a person of unwavering integrity, naturally inquisitive and driven to achieve success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Key member of the corporate accounting team to serve as a STAR (Special Technical Accounting Resource) ready to support division finance teams and fill resource gaps when needed
- Support development of operational accounting policies and procedures, including strengthening internal controls around financial reporting
- Primary resource to create an accounting center of excellence for rebate accounting and reporting
- Serve as backup for all corporate accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, month-end accruals and reconciliations, and monthly financial close & reporting activities
- Maintain certain balance sheet reconciliations not directly related to assigned areas
- Serve as key team member to partner with national accounting teams to drive successful annual audit outcomes
- Assist with technical accounting research and analysis for complex business arrangements
- Ability and desire to travel to TriMark division locations throughout the United States
- Other ad hoc projects or tasks as assigned
COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical ability and intellectual curiosity to understand business drivers, root cause analysis and trends to identify potential errors, risks and areas for continuous improvement
- Attention to detail a must
- Proactive and persistent follow-through to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to independently perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos
- Effectively prioritizes tasks to meet timelines and changing deliverables as necessary
- Analytical thinker able to operate comfortably in the detail and translate results to clear, driver-based commentary
- Comfortable using new systems and ability to quickly get up to speed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
- 5+ years of related accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
- ERP experience with multiple platforms is preferred
- CPA is required
- MBA preferred
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
