Overview

The*Marketing & Communications Coordinator*supports marketing and communications for Rutherford Regional Health Systems. The Coordinator is responsible for implementing marketing and communications strategies for the Hospital, and Physician Practices, working collaboratively with all departments to ensure all advertisements, communications, and collateral materials accurately reflect and support LifePoint brand and message expectations. The Coordinator has a dotted-line reporting relationship with the HSC Marketing and Communications teams.

*Essential Functions: *

* Implement strategic marketing and communication plans, including:
*
o Website and social media;
o Internal communications (employees and physicians);
o Public relations/earned media;
o Coordination/engagement in community events; and
o Management of Function Point and Spark portal; and any other designated support software
* Serve as a connection to the Director or Division Director for advertising priorities/needs (traditional and digital)
* Serve as an on-site representation of marketing and communications in meetings, as needed.
* Generate content for internal and external publications, press releases, collateral, social media, websites, and advertising as needed.
* Edit internal and external marketing and communications materials and ensure consistency of message and brand identity.
* Lead community engagement initiatives, planning and/or attending community events on behalf of the market including on nights and weekends.
* Support the HSC Communications and Marketing Departments on additional projects and tasks as needed.
* Proactively identify opportunities to integrate Communications and Marketing strategies within Company and hospital initiatives.
* Regular and reliable attendance.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Serves as liaison to CEO in communication, building relationships both internally and externally.

Minimum Education

* Bachelor’s Degree (Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field) required.

Required Skills

* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
* Experience with the development and implementation of marketing and communication plans aligned with strategic initiatives.
* Strong business acumen, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
* Proven experience in planning and organization of special community events.
* Effective public relations skills including interaction with the public, press, TV, and radio.
* Ability to develop conceptual ideas/programs through implementation.
* Poised under pressure with the ability to handle competing priorities.
* Healthcare experience within a matrix organization is preferred.
* Strong written and verbal skills, and well-versed with public presentations.
* Effective in a dynamic environment with various simultaneous demands.
* Set a workable marketing framework consistent with organizational and business priorities.
* Experience in health care working within a matrix organization is preferred.
* Continuous learner who seeks a higher degree of professional excellence.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with emphasis on PowerPoint and Word required. Proficiency in desktop publishing (InDesign, Photoshop, Publisher) or graphic software preferred.
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others.
* Must be flexible and have the ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously with little oversight.

Minimum Work Experience

* Minimum 1 year of related experience in marketing, communication (media, advertising) recommended.
* Healthcare experience preferred.
