Techead is working with a utility client in Surry, VA to help them hire an experienced Project Manager.
In this role, you will support a major Digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) modernization program for this power station. The Digital I&C project is a 10+ year effort as part of Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) to upgrade safety and non-safety-related analog systems to digital and transform the main control room to flat panel displays and controls.
This role works with a cross-functional team of Project Management peers, design engineers, station stakeholders, schedulers, suppliers, construction, and other specialty project leads to execute the project implementation.
Responsibilities include:
• Leads specific phases of digital I&C project design and implementation
• Works with the lead Project Manager to develop and manage project scope, budget, schedule, and risk
• Communicates regularly with the team, station stakeholders, and other departments through the use of presentations, log entries, and monthly reports.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted
• 7+ years of nuclear industry experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and/or management preferred
• 3 years of demonstrated experience in project management
• Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff
• Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to develop, manage, and monitor project performance to ensure results meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Ability to manage project risk through collaboration with the project team, station stakeholders, suppliers, and executive leadership.
• Ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes.
• Experience managing large complex projects involving heavy technical engineering and station interface
• Nuclear utility project management experience
Preferred:
• Experience managing a full-lifecycle digital project
