Overview
**Description**
The Associate Biomedical Technician is responsible for installation, electrical safety inspections, periodic maintenance, performance testing and major and minor repairs ofmedical equipment in assigned areas ofthe hospital, as well as external/retail clients. TheAssociateBiomedicalTechnicianoperatessophisticatedtest equipmentandinstrumentationfor inspections, performance tests, and periodic maintenance/repairs ofmedical equipment. The testing data acquired from said testing is analyzed and may be prepared for reports.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Documentation:
* Maintains accurate CMMS documentation for compliance with Regulatory standards
* Performs incoming inspections on new medical devices and documents all required information in the CMMS database
* Creates new standard documentation
* Researches vendor documentation and publishes to the team, uploading to a standard location.
* Documents existing workflows.
* Clearly documents work order progress and closure details using standard Providence toolset.

Regulatory Requirements:
* Demonstrates a basic knowledge ofOEM instructions when doing repairs, calibration and tests.
* Demonstrates a basic knowledge ofdepartment policies, procedures and standards.

Technology Foundations:
* Electronics Theory:
◦ Demonstrates a basic knowledge of electronic theory, technology, and test equipment.
◦ Demonstrates basic knowledge ofcolor code conventions used in componentand wiring marking.
◦ Operates basic hand-tools, power tools, and test equipment used in the repair, testing and calibration of medical
equipment.
◦ Takes safety precautions while performing service-related activities with electrical equipment.
* Medical Devices:
◦ Performs basic repair, calibration, testing, and preventative maintenance on assigned medical equipment according to
manufacturer’s specifications.
◦ Demonstrates knowledge ofbasic anatomy and physiology.
◦ Runs basic diagnostic programs on medical devices and uses results to identify any issues. Follows through on any
necessary repairs/calibrations.
* Operating Systems & Networks:
◦ Knowledgeable in the basic operation of Providence medical assets (e.g., computers, servers, network equipment). ◦ Runs basic diagnostic programs (e.g., ScanDisk, Ping).

Clinical Engagement:
* Communicates both verbally and in writing with staff and visitors.
* Understands the basic business requirements ofthe clinical caregiver.
**Required qualifications:**
+ Must be able to be on call.
+ Position requires driving, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance per company policy.
+ Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime if required.
+ Required to have completed Coursework/Training Electronics Technology, Military or Technical Training (Certificate).
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ 1 year Experience in repair of biomedical equipment or equivalent field
+ Associate degree Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronic Technology Degree
