ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safely navigates ambulance to patient’s location.
Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient’s history from available sources.
Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives.
Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Educationâ–¡ High school diploma or equivalent – Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 yearPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 yearHandle with Care – within 60 days of hire and renewed annually
Licenses: current EMT-P License in the state of KY
