*Position Summary:** *

Sovah Danville is seeking a full-time Phlebotomy Technician to collect and process human samples, such as blood and urine specimens, for testing in the laboratory, according to specimen collection and processing protocols.

* Labels, processes, and delivers specimens for testing.
* Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
* Triages patient walk-ins.
* Performs vital signs, spot-oximetry.
* Acts as a liaison between drug reps and MD/Office Manager, assists in logging samples.
* Maintains equipment and appropriate inventory of medical supplies and maintains drug sample closet.
* Verifies patient and specimen identification with two identifiers before performing any procedure.
* Accesses computer for patient reports, enters patients’ current medication list, and completes forms as requested or needed.
* Allocates the appropriate amount of specimen to the appropriate tubes for the different tests and panels.

*Minimum Education:*
* High school diploma or equivalent required.

*Required Certifications:*
* * Certification or Registry as a Phlebotomy Technician required or, obtained within six (6) months
or, Two (2) years of medical office and phlebotomy experience in lieu of certification or registry.*

*Required Skills:*

* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
* Ability to perform routine venipuncture and skin puncture.
