ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organizations Infection prevention and control strategies, policies and planning.
Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation and dissemination of healthcare acquired infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities and outcomes analysis.
Monitors local, state and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies standards and requirements.
Assists with the development of educational resources and initiatives.
Implements and follows Infection Control and safety guidelines.
Monitors research and developments in the field of Infection Prevention and Control to identify best practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationX Associate’s degree X Required
X Bachelor’s degree X Preferred
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Ability to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems.Must be able to communicate with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Must be able to successfully complete Skills Competency Checklist within 180 days of hire
Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) Life or CPR
Certified in Infection Control and Prevention (CIC) -Preferred and eligible to sit for it within 3 years
