**Job Summary**
Responsible to manage the comprehensive prosthetic patient care under the direction of a physician’s prescription. This includes patient assessment, formulation and implementation of a treatment plan, as well as follow-up and practice management. Prosthetist designs and fits artificial limbs to patients with disabilities based on physician’s specifications. Examines patient and prepares cast or mold to assist with the construction of the appliance and selection of required materials/components. Fits finished appliance to the patient and makes any adjustments to ensure comfort and maximum functionality, and makes adjustments during follow up visits as needed.
**Qualifications**
Completed the schooling and residency (12-18 months) necessary to become certified as a Certified Prosthetist.
Experience working as a prosthetic resident and board eligible prosthetist is required.
Certification in Prosthetics through the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC) is required. Current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers.
