Overview
The Network/Telecommunications Analyst reports to the Network Implementation Manager and will provide support and maintenance of the HPHS network, including local, wide-area, wireless and telecom communication. This position will use monitoring tools to detect network problems in a timely manner to minimize disturbance for customers. This position will support network switch management and configuration ensuring that all switches comply with network standards. The Network/Telecommunications Analyst will manage projects involving device upgrades, new installations, and office relocations. This position will also remediate network/hardware vulnerabilities as identified by the Vulnerability Dashboard and the SCCM Patch Management Reports. The Network/Telecommunications Analyst will provide support of primary operating and application software and hardware.
This position will also provide administration of all telecommunications systems and will lead telecommunication and other special projects including new equipment purchases, system migrations or upgrades and office/department moves. Participates in contract negotiations and enforcement with telecommunication vendors. Performs end user training on all telecommunication systems as needed. Works to ensure all configurations and modifications are documented. Participates in customer, and vendor meetings as required. Collaboration with other IT staff, the Hospital Support Center, and all levels of hospital staff is required.
Serves as a back-up to the Network/PACS Analyst, and the Operations Analysts.

Manage cable drops (punch downs, jack repair, installation, toning or tracing and cross-connects), maintain inventory for supplies, supervise cable vendors to assure hospital requirements are met

Reviews and audits all telecommunication invoices prior to payment

Audits and documents the telecommunications environment to include documentation of all accounts, facilities, and equipment, entering telecommunications inventory into ServiceNow and preparing reports for management as needed

Prepares and maintains a disaster recovery plan for the telecommunications environment and helps maintain the IT Business Continuity Plan.

Provides escalated second level support to IS staff when in depth investigation is needed

Updates and documents detailed information in ServiceNow on open calls and service requests

Assists in troubleshooting issues with patient room televisions and TV service providers.
