*Assistant Vice President, Medical Staff Services*

**What you’ll do:* *

The Assistant Vice President, Lifepoint Business Services – Medical Staff Services is accountable for managing a multi-disciplinary team within an integrated, multi-functional business enterprise services environment. The Medical Staff Services leader will play a critical role in executing against the strategic vision of LifePoint’s Executive Leadership to build a high-performing Medical Staff Services team servicing a national footprint of healthcare facilities.

*Responsibilities: *

* Work with the Vice President Revenue Cycle/CBO Operations, SVP Chief Medical Officer, Senior Vice President Operations Finance, President, Lifepoint Business Services, and local site executives to lead the organization through a significant strategic and organizational change
* Provide visionary leadership and management of the organization’s Medical Staff Services function to ensure overall performance and achievement of LifePoint’s vision, strategy, and plan, ensuring support services are delivered with quality and relevance to the business.
* Increase the operational effectiveness and efficiency to enable LifePoint to scale up and down as demand for services fluctuates.
* Set long-term strategic direction for the automation and digitization of Medical Staff Services
* Anticipate key trends, opportunities and vulnerabilities, and position functional support to ensure that infrastructure and systems are stable and support the demands of current programs and future growth
* Contribute to overall strategy, leadership, values, culture, and decision-making through active membership in the Lifepoint Business Services Governance Committee.
* Support the Executive Steering Committee, Lifepoint Business Services Governance Committee, and other fellow executives and senior leaders with insightful input in key organizational decisions.
* Foster a service mindset and ensure cooperation and engagement with other strategic divisions across the organization to ensure a unified strategy across all aspects of operations.
* Employ an effective, diplomatic, and influential communication style that promotes buy-in across the organization to gain support for implementing positive and successful change initiatives to improve overall processes and systems.

*ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: *

* **Strong domain knowledge across Medical Staff Services, including medical staff credentialing and privileging and payer enrollment functions (e.g., primary source verification, Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer enrollment processes and requirements).
* Working knowledge of the health care and credentialing industry, including medical-legal issues and laws, and regulatory agency requirements and standards.
* Experience utilizing process improvement methodologies (including Lean and/or Six Sigma), automation implementation, and transforming customer experience.
* Ability to drive operations and performance through clear accountabilities and transparent governance
* Ability to set and execute large, transformation-focused programs against defined strategic objectives.
* Understands various intersection points between business processes and technology.

*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES ***

Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and monitoring quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training, developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.

**What you’ll need:**

*EDUCATION:*

* **Bachelor’s degree in health administration or business Administration.
* Master’s degree in health administration or business Administration preferred.

*EXPERIENCE:*Seven (7) years of progressive leadership role in the implementation and operation of medical staff services or provider enrollment

*CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:*N/A

Moderate overnight travel (up to 25%) by land and/or air.
