Job Summary
The Candidate will perform technical and patient care functions related to Cardiology stress testing including regular treadmill stress tests and nuclear stress tests. The Cardiac Stress Technician will report to the clinical supervisor; performing duties that includes but not limited to performing treadmill and chemical stress, and application of ACLS measures to patients when directed and assures

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
1. Prepare patient for stress testing procedure, including paperwork.
2. Assess patient’s blood pressure, pulse.
3. Set up and monitor patient through 12 lead EKG stress testing including application of 12 lead and rhythm identification
4. Monitor EKG rhythm and takes blood pressure during exercise and recovery
5. Follows all infection control and radiation safety protocol, utilizes universal precautions at all times, and disposes of waste according to company policy.
6. Prepared to respond to patient needs in emergencies, assists physician as necessary and is prepared with emergency telephone numbers.
7. Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Minimum Education
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* CCMA or equivalent
* Medical Assistant Registration required.-American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR courses Required.
Minimum Work Experience
* Some experience in the medical field and/or an emergency care setting with experience responding to emergent cardiac and pulmonary events is preferred.
* 1 year of experience in the medical field and/or an emergency care setting with experience responding to emergent cardiac and pulmonary events is preferred.
* Cardiology:1 year preferred.
* Experience with starting IV’s, EKG lead placement and interpretation is preferred.
* Ability to type reports in a timely fashion.
