Network Technician

This role is fully onsite, Monday – Friday In New York/New Jersey.

 

Position Overview for the Network Technician:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all support issues related to Networking, Network Infrastructure, and Support.
  • Provide support for colocations in the metro New York/New Jersey areas, with a focus on tasks performed after 6 PM.
  • Handle basic network patching, ESCORTs, and inventory maintenance; use “puTTY” for server interactions and have the ability to trace network connections from patch panels to ports.

 

Required Skills for the Network Technician:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Network Technician role.
  • Prior experience utilizing a ticketing system (ServiceNow highly preferred).
  • Hands on experience working in the banking industry or supporting banking clientele.
  • Ability to travel around the NY/NJ areas to conduct client visits as needed (working hours are 12 PM – 9 PM ET, with a majority of work done after 6 PM, apart from support).
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • An active certification to include one of the following: Cisco Certified Technician, CompTIA A+, or CompTIA Network+.
  • Possess strong communication, organization, reporting, and client-facing skills; experience with Networking Testing Tools is highly desirable.
