Overview

Starr RegionalMedical Centeris currently seeking talent to fill the position ofNurse Tech / Assistantfor ourGero PsychDepartment.This job is permanent,PRN.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
* Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs,possibly takingblood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
* Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
* Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
* Assistswith keeping patient rooms andcommon areasstocked, clean and orderly.

Minimum EducationHS Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience: □ Preferred X Required

Required SkillsNursing student or completion of a licensed nursing assistant programX Preferred □ Required
Certifications:The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire:X Basic Life Support (BLS)The below certifications will be required within 6 months of hire or when transferring into a new department with these certifications:□ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
