**Department Details**
Hours M- F 7am to 3:30pm
Work with Project Managers and different departments to plan and estimate low voltage wiring to be completed
*Responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of telephone, data, and fiber cables
*Plan work and create work orders for the Communications Technicians that clearly states the work to be done
*Update AutoCAD drawings with locations and description of any added or changed network or television location
*Inspect or test lines or cables, recording and analyzing test results to locate faults or malfunctions
*Read work orders, blueprints, plans, and data sheets to determine work to be done
*Manage inventory of data consumables needed for day-to-day operations and order what is needed
*Work on high equipment such as ladders and lifts while following safety rules and regulation
**Job Summary**
The Communications Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of telephone, data, and fiber cable. May be required to help the construction crew with refurbish and demolition projects when the need arises. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Ability to differentiate colors precisely. Utilizes varies machines/equipment such as paint sprayers, vinyl machine, and basic tools.
Ability to work on high equipment, such as lifts, ladders etc. Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment. Requires flexibility with indoor and outdoor working conditions. Keeps in compliance with the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA).
Travel may be required (estimated 10%).
**Qualifications**
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Six months of previous phone and data cabling experience preferred.
Valid Driver’s License required. Must maintain good driving record.
