Overview
*Position Summary:*
The Family Birthing LPN/Surgical Technician performs basic patient care and clerical/administrative activities under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Care will include but not be limited to, patient care before and after birth, assisting caregivers in births, safe and timely transport of patients. This role performs as the surgical scrub tech for C-Sections, manage preparing and restoring the OR before and after each case. Performs as a post-partum nurse in times of high census or acuity with the support of the charge RN.

*Minimum Qualifications:*
*Required Education:*
High school diploma or equivalent
*Required Certifications:*
Basic Life Support (BLS) (may be obtained week of orientation)
*Preferred:*Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification (NRP) & STABLE
*Minimum Work Experience:*
Preferred: 1 year experience in Labor and Delivery Operating Suite, or had a clinical rotation on a labor and delivery Operating Room
*Required Licenses:*
Current license to practice as a Surgical Technologist in the State of Virginia and current credential as a Surgical Technologist (CST) issued by the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Virginia.
