Assistant Warehouse Manager

The Assistant Warehouse Manager reports to the Warehouse Manager, and is located in Brisbane, CA.
Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the Warehouse Manager in the successful planning of daily workloads for both the inbound and outbound teams, across multiple shifts. Direct and coordinate activities of employees engaged in receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping and loading of local delivery trucks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interviews, hires, trains, and coaches warehouse staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow
- Initiates disciplinary action in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager and Human Resources, when necessary
- Prepares and conducts 90-day and annual reviews for all warehouse staff, alongside Warehouse Manager
- Provide backup coverage in the absence of the Warehouse Manager
- Makes sure that quality meets company standards
- Ensures the safe use of warehouse equipment, with a high focus on overall safety
- Performs all necessary warehouse functions (receiving to shipping) as needed
- Holds team accountable for maintaining designated work areas and overall housekeeping standards
- Ensures orderly and safe working conditions of work areas, grounds, trucks, tools, fixtures, and equipment, and arranges for repairs or replacements as needed
- Works with inventory clerk to ensure cycle counts and replenishments are done daily
- Recommends tools, fixtures, equipment, or layout changes to improve the workflow, productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Makes recommendations to reduce error rates in all areas of the operation
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for improvement
- Address personnel issues in a prompt and diplomatic manner, maintaining proper documentation of such issues
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Must be able to lift to 50lbs at a time
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of warehouse experience
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably within a warehouse environment
- Experience with Warehouse Management inventory type systems
- Be able to correctly perform basic arithmetic operations (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide), and word problems
- Know how to use warehouse equipment safely (e.g., manual and PITs, conveyors, stretch wraps, PPE, and power tools)
- Forklift certified
- Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to pass a drug and background check
