*What you’ll do:*

The AVP, Tax (Tax Compliance) is responsible for overseeing and supervising all of the income tax compliance and tax provision processes for all of the LifePoint facilities and affiliates, including management of tax co-sourcing arrangements with various tax accounting firms involved in partnership tax compliance for various of the joint venture arrangements. The Manager, Tax and Risk, and Tax Staff report directly to the AVP, Tax.

*Responsibilities:*

* Leads, coordinates, and supervises the preparation of all federal and state income tax returns (including the management of co-sourcing arrangements with tax accounting firms involved in the partnership tax compliance for joint ventures) utilizing the One-Source Tax Compliance software. This function encompasses corporate income tax, partnership income tax, franchise tax, OH CAT filings, and any other tax filings required for LifePoint and all of its affiliates.
* Leads, coordinates, and supervises the preparation of the quarterly tax provisions for LifePoint and all of its affiliates, utilizing the One-Source Tax Provision software (including effective tax rate, etc.). Also, leads, coordinates, and supervises the preparation of separate company financial statement tax provisions for LifePoint and all of its affiliates.
* Leads, coordinates, and supervises the preparation of the annual budgeted tax provision and the updated budgeted tax directives utilized by the facilities in their budgeting process.
* Leads and coordinates the research and analysis of federal and state income tax matters affecting the company’s business operations.
* Leads, coordinates, and interacts with facility personnel regarding Form 1099 informational reporting matters.
* Independently interprets, draws conclusions, and makes recommendations regarding application of tax laws to the company.
* Communicates directly, both orally and in writing, with other areas of the company regarding tax issues and tax related projects.
* Represents the Tax Department on external project teams to identify and resolve tax related questions and issues and communicates Tax Department perspectives.
* Monitors new tax developments to determine effects on the company and leads the implementation of new tax accounting standards.
* Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other department leaders and hospital teams.
* Complete goals and special project within given deadline.
* Regular and reliable attendance.

*Supervisory Responsibilities: ***

* *Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

*What you’ll need:*

*Education:*Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s in Tax preferred.

* **Experience:*Minimum of 9-11 years.

* **Certifications:*CPA

* **Licenses:*Maintains Active CPA License.
