Position Summary
The Psychiatric Technician is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in meeting needs of psychiatric patients. Functions under supervision of the Nurse Manager, Supervisor, charge nurse or RN on the unit to which assigned.
*Minimum Education*
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
*Required Skills*
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
*Certifications/License*
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire. Handle with Care required within 90 days of hire date, Safety Attendant after 6 months of hire date
*Minimum Work Experience*
less than 1 year of experience. Good therapeutic communication skills required.
