Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented BigData Engineer with strong background in building, deploying, and operating large-scale BigData clusters across Public and on-premises environments. The candidate needs be well versed in Hadoop Distributed File Systems technologies in a Linux-based environment. The candidate will need to have good technical and Engineering skills to architect, build and deploy BigData solutions in the Public Cloud using Databricks, Apache Spark and/or EMR. Strong programming skills using Ansible, Python will set you apart.
You will be part of a team of talented Engineers focused on providing state-of-the-art BigData services and solutions on-premises and in the Public Cloud environments
**What you will do:**
+ Responsible for implementation and ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure in Cloudera
+ Deploy, manage, maintain, and optimize Big-Data deployments to Public Cloud using Databricks, Amazon EMR
+ Optimize query performance and tuning for jobs running on Spark, Impala, and Hive
+ Automate repetitive tasks by performing hands-on programming with Perl, Bash, and/or Python
+ Provide Operational Support and maximize Service availability by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
**What you will need:**
+ Highly motivated to learn new technologies, with strong Engineering mindset
+ Quick learner with strong aptitude for solving problems, writing code, and building Automation
+ Strong team player and willing to collaborate closely with others to get projects done
+ 2+ years of Big Data Administration experience in Linux environment
+ 2+ years experience in deploying and managing BigData workloads in the Public Cloud
+ 3+ years of hands-on Scripting skills in Perl, Python, or Bash Shell
+ Advanced knowledge of Hadoop based data manipulation/storage technologies such as HDFS, MapReduce, Spark
+ Experience in capacity planning, cluster crafting and deployment, troubleshooting and performance tuning
+ Excellent knowledge of Linux OS and Database SQL
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in related field of study, or equivalent experience
**What will set you apart?**
+ Experience in Data Engineering and Data Sciences
+ Experience in SPARK programming language
+ Experience with building and running BigData workloads in the Public Cloud such as AWS or Databricks or GCP
+ Experience with Cloudera Data Platform
