*Department/Unit Summary*

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Rehab Department, you play a crucial role in preparing and supporting patients through cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation sessions. Your responsibilities encompass providing comprehensive education, facilitating goal setting, and conducting initial assessments for new clients referred to cardiac or pulmonary rehab services.**

Responsibilities:
* *Patient Preparation:*Prepare patients physically and mentally for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation sessions, ensuring they understand the process and are ready for their sessions.
* *Educational Support:*Provide detailed education to patients regarding their cardiac and pulmonary conditions, treatments, and lifestyle modifications aimed at improving their quality of life.
* *Goal Setting:*Collaborate with patients to establish realistic and achievable goals for their rehabilitation journey, focusing on improving cardiac and pulmonary health outcomes.
* *Client Interviews:*Conduct interviews with new clients referred by physicians for cardiac or pulmonary rehab services. Gather relevant medical history, assess current health status, and determine individualized rehabilitation plans.
* *Monitoring and Assessment:*Monitor patients during rehab sessions, assessing their progress, vital signs, and response to exercises. Adjust rehabilitation plans as needed to ensure safety and effectiveness.
* *Documentation:*Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.

*Qualifications and requirements*
Applicants should have a currentState of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure and possess anAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.

Additional requirements include:

· BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) – Required to be current upon hire

· ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) – Required within 6 months of employment, if not current upon hire

· Must have minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience.

Must have critical care experience.
