*Position Summary:***
SOVAH Martinsville is currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Off-Site Clinic. The MA will:
* Perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
* Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
* Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
* Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
* Document patient care given.
* Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
* Maintain examination areas.
*Minimum Qualifications:***
_Minimum Education_
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
_Required Skills_
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
* Requires ability to read and write legibly and carry out direction promptly and accurately.
* Must exhibit effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
* Requires the ability to respond quickly and calmly under stressful or emergency situations.
_Certifications_
* Medical Assistant Certificate required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
_Minimum Work Experience_
* Experience working in a medical office preferred.
