**Clinical Data Analyst – Providence St. Peter Hospital (Full Time, Day Shift)**

_Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM_

The Clinical Data Analyst role supports Providence St. Peter, and Centralia Surgical Services goals by creating clinical intelligence reports and data necessary for effective evaluation of care operations, processes, and outcomes. Key knowledge and skills include creating reports, and supporting data processes that allow us to improve the quality and value of care we deliver to our patients. This role provides analytic support to measure clinical process and outcome measures related to disease, clinical processes, care pathways and population health. The ideal candidate is passionate about data and its ability to tell stories and answer questions that are meaningful for patients and the health care delivery team.

The objective for this role is to translate clinical questions into meaningful data that help Providence SWR improve the care we provide. To do this, the Clinical Data Analyst translates narrative descriptions of those questions into queries to extract data from the medical record (Epic) and other enterprise and third party systems. Works with teammates in Quality Services and analytics to iteratively validate the data, develops creative ways of presenting the data (Tableau, PowerBI, Iqueue and other platforms), and occasionally conducts interpretative or statistical analyses. The clinical topics are varied and span hospital-based services including inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings of care.

This role requires strong knowledge of healthcare data, information systems and reporting and the ability to describe complex data to non-technical colleagues. Ability to work independently, in an organized, self-directed, efficient manner and demonstrates the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities. Ability to effectively and graphically communicate complex data to both individuals and groups is also key. This role is currently focused on querying and displaying clinical data with the goal to use data to help Providence South Puget Sound improve care.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, mathematics, statistics, information technology, health informatics, public health, or related subject or equivalent educ/experience

+ 2 years experience in analytics at a healthcare delivery setting (e.g., hospital, medical center, medical group, clinic)

+ 2 years experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ EPIC Clarity Certification or Proficient Certificate

+ 4 years experience with reporting data out of Epic Clarity

+ Experience with Tableau and Power BI data visualization software

+ Experience and familiarity with statistical analysis methodologies, modeling, and hypothesis testing

+ 1 year experience in informatics
