Overview
**Description**
Under the general direction of the Manager Trauma Service, performs a variety of duties essential to maintaining the Trauma Registry as mandated by the County of Los Angeles, Department of Health Services and the National Trauma Data Standard, in relation to the Trauma Service at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.

**Required qualifications:**
+ Within 6 months (180 days) of hire ICD-10 course or an ICD-10 Refresher course if original ICD-10 course is more than 5 years ago
+ Upon request: Accrue at least 24 hours of trauma-related continuing education during the trauma verification cycle, defined as the 36-month period preceding the expiration date of the current American College of Surgeons trauma verification status.
+ Within 90 days of hire Trauma specific human anatomy course
+ California Fire and Life Safety Card – National Organization within 30 days of hire
+ 2 years Experience in Health Care with exposure to medical terminology and patient medical records.
+ 1 year Extensive use of data entry and word processing systems including Word and Excel.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ 6 months Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS).
