(This is a hybrid career opportunity with three days on-site and two days remote).    

We are engaged in a project that requires a Design Researcher (CX) on a consulting to potential full-time direct employee capacity who will conduct customer centric research in support of the organization’s innovation strategy and goals. 

In this role, the Design Researcher (CX) will:   

  • Perform enterprise design research plans and strategy for consumer facing products that includes promoting the use and organizational understanding of human-centered design practices to help business drive design and innovation.
  • Assist in developing and working with consumer research communities, focus groups and performing In-depth Interviews (IDI) for qualitative research.
  • Plan and implement surveys, in-home visits and other consumer research methods to discover the motivations, behaviors and needs of customers.
  • Translate research into valuable insights and strategies that includes customer segmentation to help foster design innovation and create experiences that connect with customers.
  • Develop compelling and memorable stories to communicate the customer experience and help ground business and innovation strategy.
  • Develop and implement Human Centered and Customer Experience research methods and models.
  • Assist with the development of implementation roadmaps for potential new and innovative products.
  • Perform significant facilitation amongst stakeholders, business units and external vendors.
  • Work with a variety of consultants and vendors to further the goals and objectives of key business initiatives.

The appropriate individual will have demonstrated experience in the following: 

  • Broad experience in customer experience research and strategy methods and or human-centered design applied across the consumer product development process.
  • A combination of web, mobile, digital or other consumer facing products or innovations.
  • Research methods that might include: Qualitative and quantitative research, segmentation, contextual inquiries, IDI, survey’s, A/B testing, card-sorting, expert (heuristic) reviews, persona development, and tools that garner customer opinion and sentiment.
  • Customer experience / consumer experience analysis, insights and presentation skills.
  • Human-centered design practices and facilitation.
  • Knowledge of emerging customer experience research approaches, tools, and ways to present findings.
