Overview
The Director Consulting works to build relationships with senior-level clients to understand and solve business challenges and specific needs leveraging client 1P and Acxiom 3P data. This leader’s role is to direct teams working on multiple, complex projects specifying the analytic solution and managing the internal team members’ contributions in collaboration with clients. Building strong relationships with clients is paramount as our clients often view us as an extension of their teams. This includes determining project scope, client interactions, coaching the team, and providing oversight from the selected methodology through completing final client deliverables. The Director of Consulting is able to broadly represent Acxiom and all consulting practices, as well as providing expertise in multiple industries with strong breadth and depth of experience within the Financial Services Industry. The goal is for 80% of The Consultant’s time to be spent delivering client engagements and working with clients on billable projects.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Engage on both individual projects and engage with client to deliver other consulting engagements across Analytic Services and Acxiom.
+ Scope new projects and follow-on work, including definition of effort, required resources, development of cost and timeline estimates, and statement of work.
+ Provide support to sales executives and Industry Consulting Leads to close consulting deals and initiate consulting projects.
+ Guide engagement execution around methodology & approach to ensure that timeliness & quality of deliverables meet client expectations.
+ Leverage strong communication and project management skills to maximize efficiencies and reduce project friction.
+ Provide thought leadership (both internally and externally) on area(s) of subject matter expertise, including managing/mentoring team members, providing reusable content in the way of presentations, white papers and point of views.
+ Develop or provide input on strategic content as commissioned by clients that is focused on solving business issues. Recommendations and perspective are at a strategic level focused on solving broad problems with multiple tactics and functions underneath the recommended strategy. The goal is to drive action that builds client growth, revenue and or efficiencies, while providing recommendations and next steps that continue to build upon initial success.
+ Participate in thought leadership functions, such as industry conferences, webinars, and other publicity events that establish Acxiom as thought leaders in a dedicated space.
+ Develop new product or analytic service solutions or practice areas in coordination with other parts of Acxiom, focusing on the integration of Analytic Services offerings into the global portfolio.
+ Ensure continued emphasis and refinement in improving consulting approaches, processes, and practices.
+ Assist in building the Analytic Services team and building scale to achieve Analytic Services growth targets. This may include managing or leading the work of cross-functional team members or offshore resources as required.
+ Communicate information to direct reports and cross-functional team members to set projects and client work up for success, while encouraging understanding, efficiency, and improvement over time.
+ Lead and encourage training and resource develop to motivate career tenure and growth in individuals whether direct reports or other members in the analytic services team.
+ Facilitate regular check-ins and annual review with direct reports and team members working on client projects to ensure collaboration, and team member growth while providing coaching to overcome challenges to achieve their individual and client goals.
**What You Will Need:**
+ Undergraduate degree required or equivalent industry experience and 12+ years of marketing and/or consulting experience.
+ Preferred candidates will have prior consulting experiences within a structured environment and strong subject matter expertise in Acxiom’s solution space, and specifically, strong prior experience in the Financial Services and Credit Card Industry.
+ 5+ years of experience in a client-facing, and resource management role.
+ 5+ years of experience in managing direct reports with a passion for investing in and growing the skills of your team, and across the Analytic Services broader team.
+ Candidates must have to have generalist knowledge about a variety of topics and industries and understand how they all fit including significant subject matter expertise – be the acknowledged expert on two subject areas.
+ Candidates should have the ability to:
+ Understand analytics with sufficient depth while being an articulate and savvy business analyst and problem solver
+ Be analytical but also intuitive, creative, and non-linear in their thinking
+ Understand a client’s environment and deliver recommendations that can be operationalized to achieve growth, revenue and or efficiency results
+ Understand CRM best practices and marketing strategies across online and offline channels as a whole to lead teams and facilitate dynamic team interactions and outcomes.
+ Strong presentation, Workshop and Discovery Session Facilitation Skills.
+ Listen and think critically including thriving in dynamic work situations
+ SME in Financial Services and particularly within credit card acquisition and marketing areas
