LAMC is also offering a housing allowance of *$1,000, grossed up, for up twelve months* for this position for a new hire who relocates

Los Alamos Medical Center is a community Hospital located in the beautiful mountain community of Los Alamos, NM, surrounded by the powerful Jemez Mountains. This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and directs the department’s activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Acts as Director over the Med Surg, ICU, ED and Respiratory Therapy.. In this role the candidate willDevelops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization,Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives, and will plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. They will also prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensure that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding, coordinates and direct internal/external audits, create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth, and integrates evidence based practices into operation and clinical protocols. The ideal candidate will also have current critical care nursing skills and will at times need to step into patient care as department/patient care needs arise.

Requires:

Licenses: Current NM RN licensure, or appropriate RN compact licensure to start.
Must have current BLS and ACLS upon hire. Must obtain PALS/ENPC within six (6) months from hire

Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing. Master’s degree or current enrollment in Master’s program preferred.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

At least three years of significant Leadership Experience required; preferably Supervisor/Manager/Director level experience
