**Donor Engagement Program Manager – Senior Editor, Development Communications – Swedish First Hill 1124 Columbia-Seattle(HR)**
**THIS IS A HYBRID-REMOTE ROLE.**
**While there will be some remote capacity, applicants will need to be local and able to go into the Seattle, WA office as needed. 3 days in office, 2 remote.**
**SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm PST.**
The Senior Editor, Development Communications is a pivotal member of our fundraising team, bringing extensive writing experience to inform, inspire and engage supporters, compelling to give to Swedish. Reporting to the Communications Director, this position assumes a central role in our fundraising and communications efforts. As a seasoned writer, you will collaborate closely with our fundraising and stewardship teams to create a diverse range of compelling communications, with a primary focus on collaborative major gift proposal development, impact report creation, and grant writing that convey how philanthropic gifts support our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of each person we serve.
In this senior role, you will drive a comprehensive content strategy and editorial style. Your responsibilities include diligent research, writing, editing, reviewing, and the production of various fundraising communication materials in a timely, effective and professional manner. Your expertise will be pivotal in managing collaboration and communication with Swedish Foundation staff, physicians, and subject matter experts to deliver clear, concise, consistent, and inspiring messages with the highest standards of integrity and accuracy. This role plays a vital part on the Foundation team, shaping a variety of communications for major and principal gift donors and prospective donors.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or Marketing, or a similar combination of skills and related experience.
+ 8 years of Professional writing experience.
+ Experience conducting interviews, pre- and post-interview research, fact checking, and synthesizing a coherent, related and emotive story around a common theme or message.
+ Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience working in nonprofit fundraising communications in a hospital, academia, medical or research setting.
+ Experience leading a team of writers in an editorial desk manner.
