Overview
The Education/Employee Health Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating education programs and activities, including scheduling, teaching classes, developing lesson plans and performing administrative functions as necessary. Tracking required licensure, new hire orientation, worker’s compensation and various other duties.

*Essential Functions*
AHA Training Site Coordinator- Coordinates education programs: AHA, BLS, ACLS, PEARS, PALS, NRP, and CPI, National Safe Sitter Site Coordinator
Maintains education tracking – LMS
Coordinates community education programs.
Committee Chairperson for – Emergency Clinical Response Team Meetings.
Coordinates Hospital Volunteer Program and clinical student experience
Responsible for the Employee Health Program – Process all new employees, maintains employee health records, provide Hepatitis B Vaccine, annual TB skin test, seasonal Flu shots and annual N-95 fit testing
IRR Chart abstractor
Confers with Department Directors to assess learning needs. Plans, develops and directs training of facility employees.
Coordinates (or) plans, develops and directs Patient Safety Activities to achieve competencies of facility employee.
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

*Leads onboarding orientation coordination and presentations*
Leads onboarding orientation for all new hires and employee transfers.
*Designs and Improves Curriculum for Educational needs*
Designs and continuously improves curriculum depending on education needs of facility, employees, and provided
services.
*Teach and Train*
Teach courses and provide training to facility employees.
*Mentor employees*
Mentor employees (new, underperforming, and enrichment training), identifying growth opportunities
*Promotes Individual and Departmental Continual Educational Growth*
Promotes critical thinking among nurses, shows commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
*Maintain Knowledge of Current and Developing Trends in Healthcare*
Stays current on developing and established trends in healthcare.

Actively participate in Foundation Safety Behavior Tools and Tactics such as Briefs, Debriefs, Huddles, Learning Board Activities, Executive Patient Safety Rounds and reporting of unanticipated and unintended patient events regardless of whether there is harm.

*Minimum Education*
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
*Required Skills*
Good Interpersonal skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Certifications:
BLS – current or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.
ACLS – current or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire
PALS – current or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life (ACLS) Support Instructor must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor must be obtained within 90 days from date of hire.
Licenses: Current, active Tennessee RN license
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
