ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient’s history from available sources.
Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives.
Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED Preferred
Associate’s Degree Preferred
Graduate of a Program in Discipline as evidenced by a current license or certification: Required
Required SkillsCertifications:Basic Life Support (BLS)Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually
Licenses:Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
