Essential Functions
Responsible or training new hires and being a resource for other team members
Clean endoscopy scopes according to manufacture guidelines.
Leak testing- to determine if any openings in external surface and internal channels would permit fluid to enter the scope.
Manual cleaning of endoscope, after a successful leak test- insertion of brushes to clean debris, attach scope buddy, then rinse.
Place scopes in high level disinfection or sterilizer- automated machine: program the scope number, patient identifier, MD, operator number, and quality check of control passed.
Inspect endoscopes, accessories, and associated equipment for integrity, function, and cleanliness.
Store endoscopes in closed cabinet without touching, and labeled with expiration tag- scopes are good for 5 days, storage cabinets must be cleaned weekly and chux pad changed daily.
Performs Quality Checks daily as required and changes filters according to manufacture guidelines. Documentation recorded of all Quality Controls kept in ENDO.
Wears PPE at all times.
Maintains stock and supply PAR levels.
Reports any mechanical failure and needed repairs of equipment in a timely manner.
Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred
Required SkillsCertifications:Basic Life Support (BLS): Required within 30 days of hire
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
