ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists withperformance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
Meets with patient or patient’s caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
Communicates with referring and other physician’s offices, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent Required – This can be validated by the current presence of licensure in Nursing, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, or any medical discipline that requires certification or licensure.
Associate’s Degree Preferred
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum 3 years experience in healthcare environment or in leadership/management position.
