Overview
Job Title: Graphic Designer
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Overview: The selected Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with State staff to develop visually compelling designs that effectively communicate key messages and meet project objectives. The role involves both creative design work and technical expertise to ensure all deliverables align with State requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with State staff to define project goals and scope.
- Advise on strategies to effectively reach target audiences.
- Develop designs that accurately convey desired messages.
- Create visual elements such as logos, graphics, and website layouts.
- Select appropriate colors, images, typography, and layouts for projects.
- Present design concepts to the State for review and feedback.
- Implement revisions based on feedback and finalize designs.
- Proof designs for errors before printing or publishing.
- Ensure web designs meet coding standards and optimize site architecture for usability and accessibility.
- Use specialized graphic design software to produce high-quality designs.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in graphic design software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data modeling and ad-hoc analysis.
- Ability to work regularly on-site in Baton Rouge, LA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience identifying key insights within large datasets.
- Prior experience working with government agencies.
- Proficiency in project design and management.
- Familiarity with PowerBi and PowerAutomate.
- Experience in creating data visualizations for external audiences.
