Position Summary
The Radiological Technologist performs routine radiographic examinations to patients of all ages consistently demonstrating knowledge and practice of radiation safety. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the Imaging Department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s policies and procedures and skills check lists. Must be able to respect diversity of each individual’s values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. Participates in performance improvement activities and effectively interacts with patients,families, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional imaging care.The scope of practice of the radiology technologist also includes Introducing oneself appropriately to the patient and putting the patient at ease. Performing procedures as prescribed by a LIP. Assisting in maintaining patient records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.
*Minimum Education***
Two years of college
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology and ARRT Registration
Must obtain BCLS within 60days of hir
