Position Type:  Full-Time, Direct Hire.
Salary Range:  $65,000-$75,000
Location: Smithville, TN 
 
Position Summary:                                                                                                                        
Entry level candidates with recent engineering degree will work for this role.  Any relevant experience with process, industrial or manufacturing engineering is ideal.  
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  • Create and maintain Value Stream maps for new products.
  • Develop Production line Yamazumi, Standard Work, and Work Combinations
  • Maintain plant layouts for new product launch, process changes, workflow updates, and any changes related to equipment movement, WIP and FG movement, and raw material storage.
  • Maintain plant five-year layout plan showing phase in and phase out of all products.
  • Maintain capacity plans for press, roll form, assembly, and any internal processes. Analyze and report these plans to production and management to ensure proper capacity is available.
  • Work with PC and/or purchasing to develop internal and external packaging standards, including size and QPC’s. Optimize to work with production line constraints and to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Work with PC to optimize internal logistics flow for new and existing products.
  • Develop internal racking systems for new products.
  • Perform time studies and audits of production lines to confirm cycle times and to improve efficiency.
  • Implement Kaizen projects to improve material handling, logistics, and operator efficiency.
  • Generate reports on projects including continuous improvement and new product release status.
  • Complete IE responsibilities for PIR’s for all new projects.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities. Value analysis and value engineering ideas.
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and preferred with three (3) plus years’ experience in related field.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
  • Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
