POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Inpatient Coder with Lifepoint Health, your role is pivotal. You’ll accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes using the ICD-10-PCS classification system, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and fostering collaborative relationships with medical staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-PCS, adhering to CMS requirements.
Maintain high accuracy levels (95% ) on quality reviews and productivity standards.
Stay updated on coding regulations and guidelines, including compliance reviews.
Foster positive relationships with physicians, nurses, and hospital staff.
Actively participate in educational webinars and coding seminars to enhance skills.
Adhere to AHIMA’s Code of Ethics and Lifepoint Health policies.
*Education: *
Associate degree in health-related field preferred.
*Experience: *
One year of inpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital is required.*Must have inpatient coding experience.*
*Certifications: *
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
