**Department Details**

This position is an as needed position. Successful applicant will work a variety of shifts between the hours of 5am and 11pm including overnight shifts if they choose. The successful applicant will be expected to work no less than 2 eight hour shifts per month. This position could also be a senior laboratory assistant, pathology technician with the same hours listed previously.

**Job Summary**

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and possibly processing specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders. Ensures quality patient care and a safe and professional work environment.

**Qualifications**

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.

Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
