Position Summary:
A Lead Mechanic is one that is specifically selected through department posting and assigned by the Director to direct, check, review, assign, organize and coordinate the work of one or more mechanic employees. As such the Lead assists in planning and coordination of the activities of the Facility Operations Department employees to provide services, repairs, improvements and renovations of scheduled and unscheduled assignments assuring the proper safety and efficient completion of all assignments. Lead assists in providing emergency maintenance services and procedures upon utility and system failures. The Lead Mechanic does not evaluate employee performance, productivity; handleemployee grievances and complaints, or disciplining employees as well asparticipate in the hiring selection process.
