*Minimum Education*
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
*Required Skills*
· Work with physician practices and departments to resolve scheduling and/or placement issues.
· Assist with onboarding, education and training of Scheduling and Patient Access staff members.
· Trouble shoot and assist with system issues as they arise or as upgrades are implemented
· Assist PFSD with daily reports and eRequests to ensure timely submission of claims
· Research and provide denial responses to the monthly DMAT calls
· Maintain Scheduling Dictionaries
· Maintain schedule of Scheduler PTO requests
· Participate in the new employee selection process with PFSD
· Participate in any disciplinary action reviews with PFSD
· Perform annual evaluations of scheduling staff.
· Provides excellent customer service.
· Promptly schedules patients for outpatient testing as ordered by the physician and procedure sequencing guidelines.
· Ensures date and time scheduled are relayed correctly to the caller.
· Educate physician offices on the correct elements for a complete script/order.
· Obtain authorization from the physician office verifying that it is for Jackson Purchase Medical Center (Sometimes the authorization is obtained for a different facility and needs to be corrected.)
· Searches MPI completely to ensure assignment of the correct medical record number. Notifies medical records for any duplicate medical record number.
· Obtains all necessary or detailed information from the individual scheduling patient including patient demographics, insurance information and preferred date and time.
· For surgical appointments, retrieve data from the Surgery Scheduling system to complete estimates and prepare the account for preregistration.
· Document specifics of the test and note that the prep for the test was relayed to the caller
· Document any special considerations for the test (i.e. Patient has a hard time laying down. / Special items related to a physician request etc.)
· Relay information to where the patient will go for testing.
· Complete estimates in preparation for the upcoming test or procedure to ensure the patients understands in advance his/her out of pocket responsibility.
· Same day or early morning add on testing, communicate with the Department, Pre-Registration and Registration all add on appointments. (call the areas and document who you informed in your notes)
· Follow the daily Script/Order process to ensure all scripts available and complete for next day’s testing.
· Ensure authorizations received are for the correct facility.
· Pull accounts from the scheduling system in the Meditech system allowing Relay to check the insurance behind the scenes to assist pre-registration.
· Maintain the EonConnect call reminder system, log and reports
· Schedulers are cross trained to cover each other’s positions for vacations and call outs.
· Follows up on No-Shows and reschedule via working the No-Show report tool provided via LifePoint
· All voice messages are checked at a minimum of every 30 minutes and all message returned promptly.
