Overview
Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Support the Operations Manager
- Manage personnel for all projects assigned.
- Establishes critical functions of a project and migrates responsibility to Team.
- Provide complete management of all projects assigned.
- Estimate projects:

- Walk out project with customer
- Obtain site prints or enough information to have AutoCAD technician create prints.
- Determine labor requirements and Bill of Materials
- Project planning

- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Route BOM to Purchasing.
- Assign project to Team(s)
- Arrange for delivery of materials to job site.
- Manage sub-contractors
- Assign work schedules and service requests to technicians
- Provide weekly written status reports of projects to Operations Manager. Report will include:

- List of projects by Project Number and name
- Updated project time line.
- Summary of information contained on Drop Progress Sheet, per project.
- Estimate of time needed to complete project
- Materials required to complete project that are not on hand.
- Issues, problems, and solutions concerning project.
- Manage materials by project.

- Issue or approve materials to Project Lead.
- Follow up with Purchasing on any materials back ordered
- Ensure materials are on hand for projects prior to start of project or tasks.
- Notify Purchasing of discrepancies or shortages of materials required including materials not listed on BOM.
- Customer interface

- Provide customer with a time line of project.
- Notify customer regarding difficulties encountered with customer personnel, area access, etc.
- Notify customer of changes to project plan and get customer approval.
- Documentation

- Verify as-built prints.
- Deliver marked up as-built prints to AutoCAD technician for updating of final prints.
- Deliver Drop/Fiber Certification sheets to Operations Manager
- Deliver completed Project Folder to Operations Manager
- Provide all required documentation, such as: signed work orders, estimates, time cards and other documentation required to close out projects and submit with invoicing.
- Inspect all work with Operations Manager for completion.
- Notify customer of project completion and deliver final site prints and test results to customer.
Skills Requirements:
- Knowledgeable in using a personal computer:

- Email and program downloading
- Microsoft Windows XP and Professional Office suite
- Microsoft Project
- City of Los Angeles SOS Application (training will be provided)
- 2 years minimum experience as a Project Lead.
- Knowledge and ability to install and terminate all types of cabling and equipment to established standards.
- Proven leadership skills in managing up to 30 people and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expert troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Good driving record. Be able to qualify under company auto insurance.
- Ability to walk out projects and clearly communicate requirements to Operations Manager in the form of a prepared quotation.
Certifications
- BICSI RCDD and/or other BICSI classes
- Nortel Norstar, BCM, etc
