LPN – Occupational Medicine – Family Healthcare Center Gretna (305 N Main St, Gretna, Va 24557)
*$10,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible*
Position Summary:
* Provides clinical support to patients in the outpatient clinic under the supervision of the physician.
* Provides continuity andappropriate careto patientsin accordance withapplicable scope and standards.
* Triages patients by phone and as walk-ins to clinic; escorts patients to exam rooms; monitors patient flow.
* Accesses computer for patient reports; prepares patient chart with pertinent medical information.
* Obtains and appropriately records patient vital signs/medication list, etc.
* Performs office procedures;assistsprovider/physician with minor clinical procedures.
* Manages prescriptions; calls in/faxes andeRxprescriptions as directed by provider/physician.
* Schedules diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by the provider/physician as needed.
* Obtains patient referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications for patients usingeCW.
* Performs various administrative duties, including answering phone patient calls, returning phone calls,receivingandsorting incomingfaxes, completing forms as requested or needed.
* Monitors, documents, and communicates patient’s status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician,patientand families.
* May administer medications, injections, immunizations;utilizesoffice and lab equipment for inpatient orders, lab tests.
* Serves as a liaison between drug reps and physician,maintainsdrug sample closet.
* Completes nurse visit notes and visit codes appropriately; completes assigned tasks througheCW.
* Monitors refrigerator temperatures; manages hazardous waste.
* Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
* Perform NIOSH Spirometry
* Perform DOT physical documentation requirements
* Complete Urine Drug screens
* Obtain breath alcohol tests
* Complete Worker’s Comp documents in conjunction with provider
* Complete FMLA documents in conjunction with provider
* Provide requested records to employers and worker’s comp
* Provide on-site vaccination and/or physical clinics to employers

Minimum Qualifications:
* Graduate of a School of Nursingrequired
* Current LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact Staterequired
* PreviousLPN experience preferred.
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able towork in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA)required
* CAOHC Hearing Conservations Certification preferred
* NIOSH Spirometry Certification preferred
* Urine Drug Screen Certification preferred
* Breath Alcohol Test Certificationrequired
