Overview
The Mammography Supervisor performs all duties of Mammography Technologist, in addition to coordinating daily work flow, daily assignments, patient flow and provides support to the operation of the department. The Lead provides all quality assessment activities for the imaging site, in addition to the maintenance of accreditation of the site, under the direction of the Radiology Director.
*Essential Functions:*
* Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
* Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with
* performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
* Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
* Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
* Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
* Maintains schedule for Mammography Place and coordinates with the modality supervisors/lead technologists to maintain accuracy.
* Assures that weekly QC’s are completed at both facilities.
* Uses computer system in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care: (a) patient’s full name (b) patient’s medical record number (d) examinations performed
* Works with the radiologists to set standards of quality in techniques, procedures and patient care.
*Minimum Education*
* Associate’s Degree required.
*Required Skills*
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
* Computer: Basic computer skills
*Certifications:*
* BLS required
* Licenses: ARRT with additional certification in Mammography
*Minimum Work Experience*
* 3-5 years experience as a Mammo Tech required.
* 2-4 years leadership experience preferred.
