*What you’ll do:*
As a*Manager of Outpatient Coding*, you will play a crucial role in managing our remote outpatient coding resources, in addition to monitoring coding processes, and DNFC oversight for assigned facilities. You will be a coding resource for the staff, fostering a culture of quality and team collaboration as well as identifying educational opportunities for the company.
*Responsibilities:*
* Supervise and monitor daily coding functions and processes to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Assess coding accuracy and competency through regular reviews and audits. Develop and monitor action plans based on audit results to drive continuous improvement.
* Assess staffing needs to ensure adequate coding coverage at all times. Manage vendor resources effectively to maintain coding accuracy and productivity. Collaborate with vendor leadership to address any deviations and implement necessary action plans.
* Provide training and support to coding staff on facility-specific EHR and HIS systems. Identify educational opportunities for the team and participate in hospital-based initiatives as needed.
* Evaluate coder productivity and prioritize coding functions to ensure timely coding completion. Collaborate with the team to exceed DNFC goals while maintaining positive employee relations.
* Stay up-to-date with coding regulations and guidelines, including ICD-10-CM, OPPS, and NCCI guidelines. Attend educational webinars, seminars, and conferences to enhance coding knowledge and skills. Complete all assigned compliance courses within the designated timeframe.
* Adhere to AHIMA’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Ethical Coding. Maintain patient and employee privacy and confidentiality at all times.

*What you’ll need:*
*Education*: Associate degree in a health-related field required.
*Experience:*Minimum of 8 years of coding experience in an acute care hospital setting, with at least three years of experience in coding management.
*Certifications:*Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required, with Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) certification.
