Meat Processor

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Cuts, trims, grinds and prepares meat for sale to customers. Ability to produce products at or above the minimum timeline requirements (PPH) pounds per hour.
  2. Receives and fulfills custom orders
  3. Packages and displays meat.  Label understanding, MBG (Meat Buyers Guide) basic categories and description knowledge.
  4. Maintains the sharpness, cleanliness, and sterilization of knives and tools.
  5. Ensures preparation areas are kept clean and organized with understanding of cross-contamination, proper work area sanitation, correct labeling of products.
  6. Closely follows all safety and sanitation procedures, both personal & plant QA requirements or any instructions from management.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, applicable food handling and sanitation requirements.
  2. Ability to use knives, scales, and other implements safely and with precision.
  3. Good verbal communication skills, bi-lingual helpful.
  4. Ability to concentrate on a singular task.

Education and Experience:

On-the-job training provided. 

  1. High School diploma

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand for long periods of time in refrigerated environment.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at times.
  3. Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Salary Description $30000 – 50000
