MEDICAL ASSISTANT
ARC Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our client's team and contribute to the well-being of their patients. Our client is a reputable healthcare facility dedicated to providing high-quality cardiology patient care and medical services.
Job Description:
Position Summary: As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's healthcare facility. You will assist healthcare professionals in delivering outstanding patient care, maintaining accurate medical records, and creating a positive and comfortable environment for our patients. The Medial Assistant will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. You must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure the efficient flow of patients and information within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Greet and welcome patients with professionalism and empathy.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for medical procedures.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and performing EKGs.
- Educate patients on medications, procedures, and post-care instructions.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) for patients.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient information.
- Handle phone inquiries and provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes.
Infection Control and Safety:
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
- Ensure that medical equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and maintained.
- Follow safety guidelines and report any safety hazards or incidents.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years as a Medical Assistant in a professional practice setting. Experience in a Cardiology offices is helpful but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program or certification preferred. An Associate degree preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
- CPR certification is not required but preferred.
