Overview

Responsible for direct care services including completing a psycho-social history on every client admitted to the BHU; providing individual, group and family therapy for clients admitted to the BHU; participating in daily multidisciplinary team meetings and initiating Individualized Treatment Plans for clients; working with the unit staff to facilitate involuntary commitment procedures; coordinating discharge planning (beginning at client’s admission.)

Responsible for accurate documentation and maintaining complete records.

*Minimum Education*
Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.

*Minimum Work Experience*
One (1) year of experience providing mental health and substance abuse services.

*Required Skills*
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

*Required Skills*
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
Handle With Care required within 90 days of hire.
First Aid within 90 days of hire.

Licenses: North Carolina Licensure in Field of Degree
Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
