The perfect applicant for this position will be invested in growing our L&D Unit, helping staff move forward in their skills and knowledge, and providing support to staff in all areas of growth and development.

This position determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels, ensuring staffing schedule is accurate and appropriate.Provides direction, orientation, training, competency, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performsperformance evaluation.Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

Will be required to perform staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Will be required to take patient assignments to meet staffing needs at times.Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.Manages timekeeping in KRONOS.Responsible for the interviewing and hiring of staff.Responsible for all coaching and disciplinary actions with staff in collaboration with CNO and People Services.Responsible for performance improvement projects for department, as well as all regulatory compliance. Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels. Responsible for keeping all policies and procedures current for the OB department.Manages all aspects of Nursing Provision of Care for OB department. Requires: Associates Degree or Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

*Must have Current NM RN license or appropriate compact licensure.upon hire*

New hires must have current BLS upon hire, are required to obtain NRP and ACLS within six months from hire, and will be required to obtain either AWHONN/Intermediate Fetal Monitoring/Advanced Fetal Monitoring and STABLE within one year from hire or transfer into position.

New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications. Notwithstanding this ‘grace period’ for obtaining American Heart Association certifications, employees are not excused from being current in any and all existing certifications that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
