Overview
Supervises daily staff activities for the Radiation Oncology department.
Reports to: Director – Radiation Oncology Services
Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.

Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with
performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

Maintains current knowledge of all rules and regulations governing third party admissions/registrations and pre-certification requirements

Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.

Oversees business functions related to the operations of Radiation Oncology Services.

Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

Serves as system administrator for ARIA

Knowledgeable with registration process and other duties performed by Patient Services Coordinators to train and serve as back up.

High school diploma or equivalent – Required

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Experience with third party payers, billing procedures and processes. Two years’ experience in a hospital business/access office or physician’s office is required. Supervisory/Leadership experience – Preferred
